Why I don’t use Internet Explorer.

Software

FirefoxI am very particular about the browser I use when surfing the internet. My browser of choice is Firefox (FREE) from Mozilla.org. It is has a very eye-pleasing, clean interface, and has a phenomenal tab system. I canned IE before they got on the tabbing bandwagon. Tabbing (used to view multiple pages in one window rather than have many windows open) was not the only reason I switched however.

One reason is because I wanted to support the Open Source Community. What is Open Source? It is simply where a bunch of programmers get together voluntarily and create programs that are useful, and free for the general public. Firefox is Open Source. It is continually being updated by hundreds and thousands of programmers who are “debugging” the program, and testing it against hackers and evil people. That makes me feel safer knowing I have an army of people who are not employed by Microsoft working to make my browsing experience better and safer.

Lastly, it is given that a strong percentage of hackers write malicious code for IE since it is a widely used browser all over the world. They write code to bring destruction to the most people. I feel better using Firefox because these hackers need a safe browser to use themselves. My theory is that many of them actually participate in helping build greater aps that will ultimately take a huge market share from “Big Brother” Microsoft. You decide.

Some benefits of Firefox:
- Thousands of free plugins to better your browsing experience
- Thousands of free themes to skin your browser and make it fun!
