The dilema of church management software.

manage.jpgScenario:

Your administrator receives all the contribution envelopes and inputs them into the church management software on his office computer. He records their latest address change, and tracks their giving. When he leaves, he locks up all their information inside his office. Ten minutes after he leaves, you need to find a current address…he’s gone…and you are craving the information on his computer. You sit there for a few minutes trying to hack his password, then you quit in frustration. All of your eggs are in one basket, and there’s one man who holds the key to your most vital information. You get frustrated more and more every day.

The bottom line is the more localized your data is the less it is used.  Church software companies are slowly but surely catching up to web-based technology.  Users are more apt to login to a website to access information than to pick up the phone to call someone for a phone number.  My recommendation is to go with a web-based church management software.

We recently switched, and information has been flowing so much easier.  Our leaders now have access to address, phone, and email records.  They also can see our members steps of assimilation and know exactly where they are in our membership process.   Another great thing about the software we use is we track our visitors from the first time they come through our doors until we involve them in a leadership role at the end of the process.

If you are an old dog that can’t be taught new tricks, contact your software manufacturer and ask if they have a web portal or interface.  I know the old argument that it’s a montly fee rather than a one time fee.  My question to you is, “How much are you willing to invest in growing your church?”  If your leaders are not connected to your people, needs will go unmet, people will begin slipping through the cracks, visitors will walk through your doors and may never be contacted.   With a web-based church management software, your leaders have ownership in the team.  They have access to vital information and are able to connect at the lowest level.

Consider making the switch today localized software to a centralized web-base application.  It may just be the jumpstart you have been looking for administratively.  After much research and study, I have found the following software to be the most cutting edge product on the web.

This power-packed web application has so many features it will blow your mind.
Their modules include:

PowerVisitor (An intricate tracking program supported by teams from your church)

PowerMember (A member care program that helps you maximize your function as the body of Christ)

PowerWeb  (A content management system that allows you with little knowledge of the web to add content and event information.  They also include a member login site where members can access an online church directory etc…)

PowerGiving (A secure donation site where people can pay their tithes and offerings.  They also can track pledges and print tax receipts using their unique user name.)  Normally giving increases with this module.

If you are thinking that this is too costly for your small church, it’s not.  Pricing is based on the membership base of your church.  For an all-in-one solution, the monthly fee is absolutely affordable for any church.  You really can’t afford not to have it.
