This podcast features things you may never have thought or heard about. Most likely, there are several copyright infringements going on in your church.
Here are a couple of examples that you will hear on the podcast:
- If you record your worship services and sell them, you must have a license to do so, otherwise you are breaking the law.
- It is illegal to have pirated software, that’s why I recommend Open Source software since it is free and morally right.
Understand where you stand with the law. Use this podcast as a wakeup call to your church staff. Educate them, and then implement a global media policy, then stick to it. I have implemented one at our church. We do not surf google or yahoo to find images for our screen ministry, we purchase photos now on a weekly basis for $1-$2/image. I have installed open source software on computers that do not have proper software licensing for mainstream retail software.
Please do yourself a favor, protect your church from lawsuits!
